Youth Advisory Council Now Accepting 2019-2020 Applications!
Dear Principal/Administrators, My name is Jamie Pulver and I am the Youth Advisory Council Coordinator for the 1st district of Riverside County Board of Supervisors. If you don’t already know, the Youth Advisory Council is a council comprised of high school students that come together to discuss issues facing youth and help out our community by participating in community service events. It is an amazing opportunity for high school students to get community service hours, have a voice in Riverside County politics, and help them become more well-rounded students. Not to mention, it looks great on college applications and we give out scholarships every year to our seniors. I really hope that you or your teachers will encourage your students to apply for this great opportunity. I attached the application for the 2019-2020 First District YAC Council so if you can pass them out to students that would be appreciated. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I look forward to seeing your students applications! Best, Jamie Pulver Legislative Intern/YAC Coordinator Supervisor Kevin Jeffries 4080 Lemon Street Riverside, CA 92501 Office: (951) 955-0618 Email: [email protected] |

| UCR’s Off the Block 2018 program for High School students!
Off the Block is an award-winning, media literacy and video production workshop that is designed to teach local high-school aged students all the necessary skills to make their own documentary film. The free annual workshop is hosted at UC Riverside’s ARTSblock and started as a direct response to the profound need for youth arts programming in the Riverside area. Our student filmmakers have gone on to win awards and receive recognition from several film festivals and media organizations, such as Sundance, PBS SoCal, Big Bear Film Festival, Riverside International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Film Festival and Adobe Youth Voices. Our Off the Block alumni are now students at colleges and universities such as MIT, UCLA, USC, Chapman, Art Center College of Design, Cal Arts, UC Berkeley and UC Riverside, just name a few.
